As an advanced Network Support Engineer, it will be your responsibility to install, manage, and troubleshoot computer networks. You will play a crucial role in maintaining your organisation’s networks, and you will help keep the network safe and secure. As a more senior support professional, your job could involve providing any of the following types of support to your organisation:

    • Configuring security settings or access permissions for authorised users
    • Analysing and reporting security breaches or attempted breaches
    • Troubleshooting the network to identify connectivity issues and using diagnostic testing software and equipment
    • Documenting network support activities
    • Configuring wide area network (WAN) or local area network (LAN) routers and other related equipment
    • Installing network software, such as security or firewall software
    • Evaluating network performance data in areas such as speed, connectivity, and disaster recovery

    With this diploma and some experience in a senior support role, your career could advance to positions of greater seniority and responsibility, such as Systems Administrator or IT Support Manager.
